1. Introduction
urara (the "Service") is an AI voice conversation service provided by Kazuhiro Tamura (an individual developer, the "Developer"), available as an iOS app and via web browsers. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected in connection with the Service and how it is handled.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Voice data
While you are on a call, your microphone audio is transmitted in real time to the Realtime API of OpenAI, L.L.C. ("OpenAI") and used to generate voice responses.
Voice data is not stored on the Developer's servers or infrastructure. Processing takes place on OpenAI's API, and its handling is subject to OpenAI's privacy policy and API terms.
2.2 Usage data
Call start/end times, call duration, and your plan (consumption of available minutes) are recorded on the Developer's servers (Cloudflare Workers / D1 database) to manage usage limits.
To understand where new users get stuck between signing up and their first call, and to improve the service, the steps leading up to a call (call screen shown, consent screen shown, call button tapped, microphone permission result, call connected, and a short error type if starting a call fails) are recorded on the Developer's servers, linked to your in-app account ID and the platform name. These records do not include conversation content, audio, or memory content. They are not shared with third parties or used for advertising.
The content of your conversations (what is said) is not recorded or stored.
2.3 Purchase and payment information
Purchases in the iOS app are made via Apple In-App Purchase through the App Store; purchases on the web version are processed by Stripe, Inc. (through the systems of RevenueCat, Inc.). Payment details such as credit card numbers are not collected or stored by the Developer; they are managed by Apple and Stripe respectively.
The Developer receives only transaction information needed to verify that a purchase is valid (transaction ID, product type purchased, etc.).
2.4 Account information
In the iOS app, your account is identified via Sign in with Apple through an anonymous identifier issued by Apple. Direct personal information such as your name or email address is not collected when Apple restricts its provision (e.g., "Hide My Email").
On the web version and the Android version, your account is identified via Google Sign-In through an account identifier (a numeric ID) issued by Google. The Developer's servers store only this identifier; your name and email address are not stored.
2.5 Device information
General technical information such as operational status and error logs may be collected (no dedicated log collection infrastructure is currently in place).
2.6 Memory feature
After each call, the Service extracts things Urara should remember (how to address you, your preferences, brief summaries of recent conversations, etc.) and uses them in future conversations.
These memories are never stored on the developer's servers; they are kept only on your device (in the encrypted Keychain on iOS, and in your browser's localStorage on the web version). The developer cannot view or collect them.
To extract memories, a text transcript of the conversation is temporarily sent to OpenAI after the call for summarization. This is a stateless transformation; neither the input nor the result is stored on the developer's servers. Note, however, that OpenAI's own data retention policy under its API terms (which may retain data for a limited period for purposes such as abuse monitoring) applies separately.
Technical controls are in place so that sensitive information (health conditions, sexual orientation, religion, political views, etc.) is not automatically stored as persistent memory.
Deleting memories: in the iOS app, you can view, edit, and delete memories individually or all at once from the settings screen. In the web version, you can delete all memories at any time by opening https://urara.cogproject.jp/?forget=1 or by clearing the site data in your browser.
Because web-version memories are stored only in your browser, they may be visible to other users of a shared device or browser. We recommend deleting them as described above after using a shared device.
3. Purposes of Use
To provide the Service's voice calling features
To manage usage limits (monthly minutes) of subscription plans
To prevent fraudulent use and operate the Service stably
To analyze and improve the Service (conversation content itself is not included)
